Another World's Hell was commissioned in versions for brass, wind and fanfare bands by the Socit Cantonale des Musiques Vaudoises and the Association Cantonale des MusiquesNeuchteloises for the 2013 Swiss Cantonales festivals. It is inspired by a passage in Aldous Huxley's classic 1932 science-fiction novel Brave New World, which describes in unusually close detail themusic that is being played at a dance. This is Dobson's interpretation of the imagined 'future music' that Huxley dreamed of. Brass Band Grade 5Duration: 13 minutes

Carl Wittrock became inspired by huge icefields surrounding the South Pole. Colourfull and majestic sounds provide the composition a fascinating view of this "6th" continent.'Antarctica' is a free impression of the scenery in the Antarctic.Melodies are linked together to convey the various aspects of the landscape.These melodies together with their simple harmonic accompaniments make this work pleasant for both the listener and the musician.

Antonin's New World - Antonín Dvorák

Antonin's New World is an excellent piece of musical theatre featuring a comedy act for triangle soloist and band. The music itself does not sound comical, being based on Anton Dvorak's Symphony in E Minor (From the New World), but the right mix of seriousness and humour brings a surprising effect.
