An 'easy-listening' arrangement for brass band (in the 'hooked on' style) of several Christmas carols and songs including 'Good King Wenceslas', 'O little town of Bethlehem', 'Ding dong merrily on high', 'Angels from the realms of Glory' and 'We wish you a merry Christmas'.

CAVATINE FOR TROMBONE (Brass Band Set) - Saint-Saens - Andrew Blyth

Cavatine was originally written for trombone and piano in 1915 quickly becoming part of the standard repertoire for this combination. This transcription for trombone and brass band seeks to capture the spirit and style of the original.

CELEBRATE AND SING (Brass Band Set) - Martin Cordner

Written for The Salvation Army Gospel Arts Concert 2010, this lively concert opener partners the old tune of Darwalls ('Let earth and Heaven agree') with the modern-day Easter song, 'Jesus, we celebrate your victory'.

CELEBRATION (Brass Band Set) - Leslie Condon

Composed for the 75th anniversary of the ISB in 1965, this music went on to become one of the best known concert marches in the Salvation Army repertoire.

CELESTIAL PROSPECT (Brass Band Set) - Wilfred Heaton

Selected as 2nd Section test piece for 2003 'Regionals'Wilfred Heaton originally composed Celestial Prospect in the 1940's but, so the story goes, it was rejected by the SA Editorial 'chiefs' as being too modern. The original manuscript was lost for many years, turning up in the 1980's in New York. Heaton re-worked it for the New York Staff Band, and it is now accepted as a classic of the SA 'Festival' genre.

CHALK FARM No.2 (Brass Band Set) - Edward Gregson

In 1909, The Salvation Army published a march called 'Chalk Farm'. 'Chalk Farm No. 2' was written to commemorate the centenary of the birth of Bandmaster Punchard, Bandmaster to Chalk Farm band for 50 years. The tune 'March on, we shall win the day' is common to both marches. The later march is symphonic rather than processional, including as it does irregular bars of 5 and 7 beats.

CHALLENGE, The (Trumpet Solo with Brass Band Set) - Eric Ball

Originally written for trumpet and piano in 1935, this solo exploits the character of the trumpet to good effect. It is a measure of the quality of Eric Ball's music that 'The Challenge' stands up today as fresh in its brass band guise as it did in its first published version.
