Strong Coffee Brass Band (Score & Parts)

It is true that tastes differ. Coffee has known a long history : it has been drunk since the 17th century. On one hand people drink coffee for relaxation, on the other hand it is drunk to ward off tiredness or sleepiness. 'Strong Coffee' composed by Ron Gilmore works both ways. There will be people who will be able to relax during 'Strong Coffee', whereas others will experience it as a real boost. Is it a bit too strong after all, such a funky Soul Beat? STUCK IN THE MIDDLE WITH YOU (Brass Band) - Pankhurst, Lucy

Arranged by Lucy Pankhurst, this is a refreshing remake of the original 70's hit song for Stealers Wheel, that combines nostalgia with some showy and innovative solo work. The melody travels around the band and the overall feel of the melody, rhythms and beat are brilliantly scored to recapture the original song, with a touch of a makeover.

Studio-Pop (Brass Band - Score and Parts)

Studio-Pop consists of five movements. The first movement, entitled Marching on a String, is an energetic rock march in a modern rhythm. Next, the charming Dreaming of Summer has been composed in three-four time - which is quite unusual in modern pop music. The inspiration for the third movement, Chicken-Charley was a youngman selling chicken legs from a stall. His supple, dancing movements can be recognised in the music. The fourth movement, Candlelight is a modern, attractive ballad. Finally, Discoteca takes us along on a night visit to a Spanish discotheque. The typically Spanish chords and the stirring, high-spirited rhythm provide an exuberant closing to Studio-Pop. 05:10
