Composed by Steve Robson and scored specifically for our Flexi-Collection World Tour Series. Steve has been inspired by fond memories of hearing Alpine Bands and seeing knee slapping dancers performing in Switzerland for this piece. It starts with some off-stage calls (which could even be from an Alpine Horn if one is available), and moves into a lively dance section, ending with a little yodeling! There are various ways to convey the yodeling through instruments, but a bit of vocal yodel practice could be a novel new addition to the band's warm-up routine!Our Flexi-Collection Series:Flexible scoring tailored to your needs - a perfect solution for expanding the repertoire of Junior/Youth brass bands and ensembles. The Flexi-Collection currently offers two series and these will be regularly expanded to offer groups an even wider variation of music. Once upon a time in North America, there lived a mother and her small daughter in a tribe of Ojibwa Indians. The girl suffered from constant nightmares. The mother sought help from Spider Woman known as Asibikaashi, who took care of the children and people on the land. Asibikaashi span a magic web to protect the girl from these evil dreams using a branch from the meadow bent into a sacred circle, with a web woven from cord that had dried on sacred herbs, and with a hole in the middle to let good dreams pass through. The dreamcatcher, decorated with sacred feathers, only allowed good dreams to pass through; the bad dreams were caught in the web. If one awoke early in the morning and the rest of the sun's rays touched the dreamcatcher, the bad dreams would be burnt and turned into invisible stardust.This work contains well-known dream images: the dream of flying, the transcendental meeting with a deceased person, and the dream of running away on legs that won't run. Everything turns out well in the end, as the sun's rays burn off the evil and everything is forgotten.

Salentin is Gauthier Dupertuis' tribute to the Valais, the Swiss Canton where he was born. Salentin is a mountain from which there is a spectacular view of Vernayaz, the composer's village of origin.This piece is structured in such a way that all registers of the band are highlighted. It is suitable for performance in parade, but also as a concert march.Salentin is dedicated to the Concert Band of Martigny (Valais/Switzerland) and its conductor, Dany Rossier, who premiered Salentin during a concert on 3rd December, 2023.

£204.00Folklore - Kjetil Djønne
"Folklore" is a work for brass band and percussion loosely based on the story of the Norwegian woman accused of witchcraft, Anne Pedersdotter. She was sentenced to be burned at the stake in Bergen in the spring of 1590 and has since been frequently highlighted as Norway's most famous and talked-about witch.The work begins with the movement "Lyderhorn," depicting the mountain outside Bergen where witches gathered to plan magical actions against the city. Here, we hear the quietness of nature and the wind blowing through the trees before a new theme appears, which will come to life in the next movement. In the distance, the witches have started their ceremony.In the next movement, "Walpurgis Night," the witches perform their rituals to afflict the city with fire, disease, and natural disasters. The ceremony becomes more and more chaotic, violent, and compelling until the darkness of the night envelops us, concluding the section.The third movement describes the women's inner struggle against the harassment they faced when the people of Bergen suspected them of being witches. Rumors often turned into formal accusations from the legal system, and many were sentenced to death after undergoing trial. "From life to death through the fire."The fourth and final movement, "The Pyre," depicts the actual death sentence. You can hear the pyre being ignited and the flames growing and intensifying. It all culminates in a chorale as a memorial to the lives that were taken.

Momentum Sequences was commissioned by Skjold Skoles Musikkorps (Norway) for their 60th Anniversary in 2021 (later adapted for brass band to Smoras Skolemusikk).The title of the term Momentum can be explained by an event that creates extra energy, or the driving force of a moving object. In this case, both the driving force,The energy and the object can be translated to the music, the conductor and the band.The piece is divided in three movements; I.Signals, II.Light and III.Finale which builds up the Momentum of the piece' character and theme.

£102.60Norge i rodt, hvitt og blatt - Lars-Erik Larsson
Norge i rodt, hvitt og blatt ("Norway in Red, White and Blue") was commissioned by the Oslo Fagott Choir (yes, that is indeed a gay men's choir) for a concert with The Staff Band of the Armed Forces in 2015. I was given artistic licence to write a more modern and somewhat 'eclectic' arrangement for this originally Swedish melody written by Lars-Erik Larsson, which became something of a national liberation anthem when Nazi occupation ended in May 1945 - then with new lyrics by Finn Bo, Bias Bernhoft and Arild Feldborg.After the premiere in Oslo, and a music video with Oslo Fagott Choir and The Staff Band, broadcasted by Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) on Constitution Day during coronavirus lockdown in 2020, I was approached by many to write an instrumental version of the arrangement for concert band. This version is now available through Norsk Noteservice. Reid Gilje has made this instrumentation for Brass Band.

"Song for Frances" is a classic love ballad, written for concert band and brass band, with a soloist on euphonium.The piece always has the soloist in focus and gives him plenty of room to show off, both a warm sound and technical skills. In the first part of "Song for Frances", the basic melody is clearly presented, while the rest of the piece is more of a written "as if improvisation" with various melodic and technical "whims". The piece will be perfect for any euphoniumist looking for a challenge.
