20 Titles for Brass Quintet with Optional AugmentationFeaturing stylish arrangements using a flexible format for a minimum of five brass players, this set of music for small ensemble covers a wide range of composers and styles. The collection includes music by Purcell, Bach, Verdi, Gounod, Sousa, Joplin, Botsford, Elgar, Gershwin, and others.Using a unique approach to the scoring, the basic setup is for five players: two cornets/ trumpets, one horn, one trombone, and one bass tuba. Two optional "augment" players can be added using the "flugelhorn", and/ or the "Euphonium" parts. Further expansion of the ensemble is possible by adding multiple players to each part.Twelve parts are provided in total: 1st Bb Cornet, 2nd Bb Cornet, Eb Tenor Horn, French Horn in F, Bb Trombone or Baritone in treble clef, C Trombone in bass clef, EEb Bass, BBb Bass, C Tuba in bass clef, Bb Flugelhorn or Cornet (augment part 1), Bb Euphonium or Baritone (augment part 2), C Euphonium or Trombone in bass clef (augment part 2).A Full score is available seperately at a cost of �35.00. £24.9523 - A Lament for the Victims of Enschede (Brass Band - Score and Parts)
23 was composed for Brass Band Schoonhoven, and used as part of their programme for Brass in Concert in November 2016.On the 13 th May 2000, the Netherlands was shocked by an explosion in Roombeek - a district of Enschede, near the German border - after a fire broke out at a local fireworks depot. 23 people lost their lives in the tragic events. This piece pays tribute to their memory.The numbers 2 and 3 form the basis of the piece. The use of 5/4 allows the music to flow, alternating between 2 + 3 and 3 + 2; there are frequent passages where triplet quavers clash with straight quavers; and the tuned percussion make use of a scale composed of alternating intervals of 2 and 3 semitones.

Another Worlds Hell was commissioned in versions for brass, wind and fanfare bands by the Societe Cantonale des Musiques Vaudoises and the Association Cantonale des Musiques Neuchateloises for the 2013 Swiss Cantonales festivals. It is inspired by a passage in Aldous Huxleys classic 1932 science-fiction novel Brave New World, which describes in unusually close detail the music that is being played at a dance. This is Dobsons interpretation of the imagined future music that Huxley dreamed of. Suitable for 1st Section Bands and above. Duration: 13.00

Beaufort Fanfare, by German composer Friedrich Gattermann, is a dynamic and vibrant musical work inspired by the Beaufort scale, a system for estimating wind speeds. Originally composed for brass ensemble and percussion, it was created to showcase Orchestral Tools' Beaufort Brass sample library, recorded at the iconic AIR Studios in London. Here it has been set for brass band. A central element of Beaufort Fanfare is its exploration of musical density. The piece begins with a single motif and gradually builds in complexity and richness, reflecting the increasing strength of the wind. As it progresses, the music intensifies, with the development of density playing a crucial role in conveying the evolving character of the elements. Through intricate brass harmonies and rhythmic drive, Beaufort Fanfare captures both the awe-inspiring beauty and raw power of nature. More than just an auditory experience, this composition takes the listener on a journey through the elements, celebrating the force of wind in all its forms. The premiere of Prokofiev's 5th Symphony took place on January 13, 1945, with Prokofiev himself conducting the USSR State Symphony Orchestra. During the performance, artillery fire could be heard in the distance, celebrating the Red Army's victory over German forces and providing a stark reminder of the ongoing conflict. Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5 emerged as a symbol of hope and human resilience. The 2nd movement is the Allegro marcato, a lively scherzo. The piece is energetic, full of contrasts and dynamic melodies, and embodies a spirit of defiance. It is one of the arranger's favourite pieces, and translates brilliantly to brass band for an orchestral transcription.
