Song Without Words - Max Stannard
This sublimely simple piece is the perfect choice of solo for bands looking to add a special moment to their concerts. With parts not too demanding, this solo would suit up and coming cornet players that would like the chance to fulfil their moment in the spotlight. The gentle ballad flow of the work would work well at any concert occasion and is open to youth bands as well as more seasoned senior bands.

Meaning Little Star, this work is so beautiful and simplistic that is raises smiles from all who hear it. Whilst playing with James Shepherd Versatile Brass, Euphonium & trombone player, Nigel Lawless penned this new work as a gift to Rob & Claire Westacott on the birth of their daughter, Jessica. Now cleverly scored for full band, the work combines the two famous melodies of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Brahms lullaby. Playable by most standards of bands, this slow melodic piece fits easily into any concert programme and provides a chance to showcase lyrical soloistic playing and delicate accompanying skills. The work was recorded on the JSVB final CD release, Legacy.

Every year, bands across the country search for something new and different for their Christmas concerts. This year, look no further! In this comedy item, originally composed for piano duet, the feeling of Christmas is ever present. The playful melody is passed around the band including a percussion section solo (with cues for the band if no percussion available). Audience participation can be used as they rattle keys to mimic the sounds of Sleigh Bells. Of course, no comedy work would be complete without some singing from the band. This really is a treat for all concerned and is a piece that will make any Christmas concert come to life with something different.

As well as this 'main version', there is also a youth/training band version of the work available which is more accessible to younger bands. The two versions work as standalone items, or can be performed side-by-side. A great new original piece for Brass Band.

Sketches From the Galley takes audiences on a swashbuckling pirate adventure, evoking images of cannon-fire, pirate ships and jaunty merriment through its contrasting "sketches". The work was commissioned as a concert item for Elland Silver Band, and was premiered at their summer concerts in 2017 around Yorkshire. Composed by Elland Silver Band's Composer-in-Residence, Nick Brocklehurst, this thrilling piece provides a fun challenge that showcases the entire band, and guarantees to please audiences with its catchy melodies.

£29.50A Shropshire Lad - George Butterworth - Duncan Wilson
A major concert work for band, this tone poem is based on Geroge Butterworth's song cycle of the same name, itself based on the poetry of A.E. Housman, concentrating on the very personal effects of The Great War. Butterworth himself fell at the Somme in 1916. This is the second arrangement of Butterworth's music by Duncan Wilson after The Banks of Green Willow was recorded by both Black Dyke and Rothwell. The music is intense and poignant and an ideal piece for this year's centenary of the Armistice.

BrassFesk UK is back for 2022 after a break following the pandemic and with it, comes the traditional new commission and anthem. Recorded by the European Champions, the Cory Band, this year's anthem is an arrangement of well-known UK traditional songs to coincide with the Queen's Jubilee. The work has been written in the style of Gordon Langford, one of the Brass Band world's leading arrangers and so as you expect, there are some fantastic parts to play for all areas of the band to enjoy. This foot-tapping release continues to follow the previous BrassFest UK anthems that have gone before it, ensuring a fun piece of music to both play and listen to. A perfect opener for lower section bands, 'Shining Brass' was the winning entry from the 2024 British Bandsman composition contest. The contest was run by the popular brass band media outlet to encourage new composers to create a new piece for lower section and youth bands.
