L-O-V-E was written by Milt Gabler and Bert Kaempfert for the final album of the same name by the American singer and pianist Nat King Cole. This album, released in 1965, is largely regarded as a classic. Over the years, many cover versions have been made, including one by Michael Buble. In 2007, the English soul singer and songwriter Joss Stone recorded the song for the promotion campaign around the Coco Mademoiselle perfume by Chanel. Christopher Bond arranged this catchy music for brass band.

Back on Track is a spectacular composition for Concert Band. Otto M. Schwarz composed an opening fanfare for the beginning, which can also be played as a short 'teaser' at festive events. A motif is treated through various rhythms and time signatures and leads to an epic finale, splendidly brought to life by the glorious timbres of the brass.

£53.50Till We Meet Again - Philip Sparke
Till We Meet Again was commissioned by Floraskulen Brassband, Floro, Norway, as a tribute to their former tuba player, Gunstein Stromsnes, who died tragically young in a traffic accident in 2017. They gave the premiere in December 2018. After a short introduction, a solo euphonium intones a modal, folk-like melody. This is taken up by the flugel horn and leads to a series of short solos which build to a majestic chorale for the full band. The mood subsides to reintroduce the modal melody before hints of the introduction and a short euphonium cadenza bring the work peacefully to a close.

"Four roads lead to Santiago", so begins the Book of the Pilgrim. Written in the 12th century, the Codex Calixtinus opened the way for pilgrimage from most cities in Europe and North Africa to Santiago de Compostela, in Spain. Compostela - The Way of St James describes the pilgrims' journey. After a slow introduction, a brilliant theme announces the start of the journey. The arrival in Spain is indicated by incantatory chants and majestic chords. Finally, the music softens as the pilgrims venerate St James.

£53.50Free Mind - Marc Jeanbourquin
For Free Mind, a light and dynamic piece, Marc Jeanbourquin drew inspiration from a gospel song, namely "Oh, Freedom", a post-Civil War African-American freedom song. In these times of crisis, the composer wanted to retain a positive and energetic spirit to symbolise the hope for better days. The four notes of the theme "Oh, Freedom" occur throughout the work and are brightened up by lively percussions, giving Free Mind a sparkling character that will lift the opening of a concert with enthusiasm.

No Man's Land was commissioned by the 'Noordlimburgse Brass Band'. Thierry Deleruyelle has written this work in 2018, 100 years after the end of World War 1. This work is related to his first work written for brass band, Fraternity, which tells the story about the mining accident in Courieres, France. Countries such as Belgium and Germany helped France. Eight years later World War 1 broke out. Instead of helping each other, no man's land arose.

Crossing Worlds is written in three separate movements ('Getaway', 'Skylights' & 'Welcome Parade') and follows the journey of a musician. Redbad was written for the Championship Section of the Dutch Brass Band Championships - and thus it contains plenty of musical and technical challenges. In this work of seven connected movements we get to know Redbad, who was the King of the Frisians from c. 680 to 719. The composer drew his inspiration from historical information, but also from stories, anecdotes, myths and legends around this figure. The themes within the composition are closely interwoven whereas the music is varied and appealing - from heroic motifs to the melancholy of elegies. Impressive tutti passages alternate with fragments that sound more open and in which various players can take centre stage. To crown it all, the work concludes with a majestic finale.
