Love Eternal was written by Gavin Lamplough for Neil Blessett, who at the time of writing was the Principal Horn player of both Birmingham (UK) Citadel Band and the International Staff Band of The Salvation Army. The arranger uses Jarod Cooper's popular contemporary worship song King of Kings, Majesty as the basis for the work and the piece seeks to provide a vehicle for the rich timbres of the tenor horn to be enjoyed by the listener. The music reflects the Christian musician's desire to offer their talents to God to be used by Him, and the lyrics of the song are ones of contrast as the musical journey of this piece seeks to emulate the juxtaposition through contrasting moods. Moon River is the title song of the famous 1961 motion picture Breakfast at Tiffany's. Over the years the song was covered by many major stars, turning it into an absolute evergreen around the world. The beauty of the melody is also suited for mellow sounding instruments like the Eb horn; a great reason to make this version for brass band and horn. This arrangement of Moon River received its premiere as part of Tongwynlais Temperance Band's winning 2017 Welsh Open programme, with soloist Emily Evans winning the soloist prize. The arrangement was since featured on Cory Band's CD release 'Destination Moon', recorded by Ailsa Russell.

At the time, John and Michelle were members of the folk group The New Journeymen which later evolved into The Mamas & Papas for whom this song was their biggest hit. May 2015 saw the release of the film San Adreas directed by Brad Peyton with soundtrack by Andrew Lockington. The film featured a rendition of California Dreamin' performed by the Australian singer-songwriter Sia. In 1987, Montserrat Caball met with Freddie Mercury to discuss the production of a new song for the forthcoming 1992 Olympics to be held in Barcelona. From this meeting both agreed to produce an album titled: "Barcelona" - the title track of the same name which would be the iconic track used as the theme for the 1992 Olympics. The song had it's first performance in May 1987 at the Ibiza Festival and then again in 1988 at the open air La Nit festival in Barcelona. This would be Freddie Mercury's last live performance. In 1991 Mercury died - one year before the Olympics. The track was broadcast at the start of the international broadcast of the 1992 Olympics ceremony. In 1999 at the UEFA Champions League Final held in Barcelona, Montserrat Caball performed 'Barcelona' live together with a recording of Freddie Mercury and his image which appeared on the stadium's electronic screen.

'This is the Moment' is a hit song from the musical 'Jekyll & Hyde' - a show loosely based on the novella 'The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde'. 'This is the Moment' is sung by Jekyll before he tests the transforming formula on himself in his laboratory. Famous covers of the song include that by The Moody Blues on their official compilation album for the 1994 FIFA World Cup.

'God Put a Smile Upon Your Face' was written by all members of the band Coldplay for their second studio album 'A Rush of Blood to the Head'. Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin said: "The song came out of playing live and wanting to have something with a bit more bounce". The chart was originally released in 2003 to critical acclaim. In 2007 Mark Ronson covered the song on his album 'Version' - it is this version this arrangement is based upon. The following arrangement was devised as a concert opener - written as such to allow different sections of the band to make their way to the stage one at a time.
