In Brother Bear, the young Kenai kills a grizzly bear to avenge his brother's death. Then he is magically transformed into a bear himself and he makes friends with the bear cub Koda. Together, they undertake a long, exciting journey in search of the mountain where Kenai can become human again. Meanwhile Kenai's remaining brother hunts them in order to avenge his family. Thus, the main themes of Brother Bear are brotherhood and friendship. On My Way gives voice to the courage and the determination that characterise Brother Bear. Peter Kleine Schaars has produced an excellent arrangement for band, which reflects the original film music very well. 03:45

A brief history: Pentecost Monday was a special day for schools in Yorkshire (England). There were a variety of activities. The pupils of Sabine Baring-Gould would meet with the children of a nearby village. It seemed like a good idea that during the walk would be sung. But she could not find a suitable song and decided to write one by herself. "Onward Christian Soldiers" was the result. It soon became very popular, though she herself was not entirely satisfied with the rhyme scheme. The melody used (St. Gertrude) was by the famous English composer Sir Arthur S. Sullivan. Back to now: Gawan Roberts, has given the hymn a proper update. He gave the still popular song a solid rock beat and added daring harmonies. So it's popular, for current generations, again for years. This composition, based on the hymn Praise to the Lord, is comprised of eight separate parts that can be played together as a concert piece or opening work. The A and B sections are different openings, C is four-part arrangement of the hymn, D is a solo for four saxophones, or two trumpets and two trombones, E is a calm intermezzo, F a solo for trumpet or cornet, and G and F finally are a majestic or peaceful closing section. PRELUDE, TOCCATA and FUGUE (Graduation Day) (Brass Band - Score and Parts) - Sparke, Philip
Three connected movements each with their own character. Prelude is energetic and riving, featuring highly syncopated melodies and frequent changes of key and phrase length. The central Toccata is a series of traditional cadenzas for cornet and euphonium that ends ina virtuoso duet for the two soloist and leads directly into the Fugue. The baroque-style fugue keeps breaking out into episodes of 'Swingle' bebop.
