Praise to the Lord Brass Band (Score & Parts)
This composition, based on the hymn Praise to the Lord, is comprised of eight separate parts that can be played together as a concert piece or opening work. The A and B sections are different openings, C is four-part arrangement of the hymn, D is a solo for four saxophones, or two trumpets and two trombones, E is a calm intermezzo, F a solo for trumpet or cornet, and G and F finally are a majestic or peaceful closing section. The Craftsmen Brass Band (Score & Parts)
The energetic activities of three craftsmen at a local crafts market inspired the composer Christian Bouthier to write this work in three movements. The clockmaker gets many curious visitors at his stand. He patiently and proudly shows the precision work of his beautiful clocks and lets all of them tick - the small ones and large ones. The cooper (barrel-maker) skillfully puts together fine-looking, sturdy barrels of the best types of wood. From afar, you can hear the cooper hammering. In the final movement things are hectic at the blacksmith because the local horse-riding society has just arrived. Many horses are provided with new shoes. The experienced blacksmith hits the horseshoes into the proper shape on his anvil; now the horses can spiritedly trot and gallop on the way back. A fascinating new addition to the concert band repertoire.

Jingle Bells, Rudolph.... but I didn't want to produce another of those!An interesting thought - all Christmas selections seem to be in 4 beats in a bar and Major keys, all bright and festive. Why not try something different?Carol Fantasy uses 3 beats in a bar, and is written in a Minor key!Some of the classics are there, We Three Kings, Coventry Carol, and We Wish you a Merry Christmas, but they are all stitched together using the lesser known Bell Carol. DescriptionEs ist ein Ros Entsprungen is sometimes sung to the English words "A Great and Mighty Wonder". This tune to the reformation era German carol first appeared in the Speyer Hymnal in Cologne in 1599. This harmonisation of the tune by Michael Praetorius in 1609, one of his earliest publications. Praetorius was, along with his slightly younger contemporary Heinrich Schutz, the foremost German composer of the day, and became famous for his choral music. Much of this was written for multiple groups positioned around the church and conducted by a central conductor, giving a multi-phonic effect similar to the Venetian music of Gabrieli. Prillar&Halling - for Solo Clarinet and Wind Band - Stig Nordhagen
"Prillar" has it's origin from Norwegian folklorist music. It's a way of calling and singing the cattle home from the fields. Halling is a wellknown folk dance from the valleys in the eastern part of Norway.In this work, the clarinet use the prillar to get the other musicians to join in.The melodic material in Prillar and Halling hasn't got all the sound of Norwegian folklore exclusively. You can also hear folkloric music from other nations. The idea is to show the similarities between these and also the small differences there are between folkloristic elements from a large area. The piece also contains the folk tune "Adam in paradise", from south of Norway. At the end, the tunes are stacked on top of each other, and the similarities of origin turns out.- Stig Nordhagen -

EXULTATE DEO (Brass Band Set) - Paul Sharman
Translated as 'Praise the Lord', 'Exultate Deo' was conceived as an overture of praise to God. It brings together three contrasting songs of praise; 'Praise Him!', 'We are here to praise you' and 'Then will the very rocks cry out'. The bold opening uses the tune 'Gerontius' to which the words, 'Praise to the holiest in the height' are associated while the music concludes with the phrase 'Praise my soul, the King of Heaven'.
