Featuring and taking its title from Let all the world in every corner sing: My God and King! (S.A.S.B. 41), this bright melody is contrasted with the tune Lydia associating the words There is a name I love to hear, I love to sing its worth (S.A.S.B. 94).1349: I need thee (Craig Woodland)An expressive arrangement of the traditional hymn I need thee every hour (S.A.S.B. 707)1350: March - The great commission (Paul Sharman)This march was written for the Norwegian Christian brass band, Egersund Missionary Band, and is derived from the tune Onward, Christian soldiers (T.B. 188) as well as a brief fragment of the Norwegian National Anthem and the melody Die Sach is dein (The work is thine).

"Love me Tender""Wooden Heart""Suspicious Minds"Owing to the resounding success with both bands and audiences, and following several requests, I have produced this second medley. After the introduction, Love me Tender begins as a Flugel solo. When we go into Wooden Heart, it is the turn of the Horn to play it as a solo first time through. Suspicious Minds starts as a solo for Euphonium. The slow section is a Trombone solo, before it speeds up again for a Las Vegas style ending. (Paul Sharman)A setting of Charles Hutchison Gabriel's song, 'My Saviour's love', to which we sing his words, 'I stand amazed in the presence' (S.A.S.B. 179). Originally written for Birmingham Citadel Band, the piece aims to follow the four verses of text and is mainly up-tempo in style, depicting the amazing fact that God loves us.No. 2144 Tu es Petrus (arr. Olaf Ritman)A setting of a madrigal by Robert Pearsall. Originally entitled 'Lay a garland', the original text was swapped for the religious Latin text, 'Tu es Petrus' (You are Peter).No. 2145 Cornet Solo - As I pray (arr. Ivor Bosanko)Major Joy Webb's song, 'As I pray' (STTL Vol. 2, part 2), is arranged here as a beautiful solo for Cornet.

This arrangement is more relaxed in style than the original and attempts to convey the freedom of the verses mostly associated witht he tune by Samuel T. Brand's song, Sing we many years of blessing.No. 427 A mighty fortress is our God (George Twitchen)The words and melody to this great hymn were written by Martin Luther and are based on PSalm 46. It has been called 'The battle hymn of the Reformation' for the effect it had on increasing support for the Reformer's cause. The words and melody are so closely associated with its author, that the first lines are inscribed on Luther's monument at Wittenberg.No. 428 Song Arrangement - I'd rather have Jesus (Peter Kim)Bandmaster Peter Kim from the USA Central Territory presents an arrangement of the popular gospel song, 'I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold.' The lyrics were written by Rhea F. Miller in 1922 and have proved popular with many Christian denominations ever since.No. 429 Bound for Glory (Ian Feltwell)The song 'I'm a soldier bound for glory' was first published in 1922, is a great Salvation Army song of testimony and still remains a firm favourite today.

This solo was written at the request of David Daws and recorded by him with The International Staff Band on the CD Glory, Glory. David liked the solo 'Kim' by Allan Street and wanted a solo in similar style. It requires musicianship beyond mere technique and calls for keen interpretive skills. Built around 'He giveth more grace' and an arrangement of 'There is a name I love to hear', there is plenty of scope, in a variety of styles, for the soloist's artistry to show through.

No.1223 March - Joyful News (Ray Steadman-Allen)the composer freeli admits that it was probably 'doodling' on the piano that prompted this march! The title is linked to one of the incorporated tunes, 'My bonnie lies over the ocean' which, in The Salvation Army, is linked to the words, 'God's love is as high as the heavens'. In style, the march has a light swing feel.No.1224 Song Setting - Ask the Saviour (Michael Davis)A setting of the well-known melody, 'Yield not to temptation'.No.1225 Song Arrangement - Jesus Came! (Howard Davis)An arrangement of an old Salvation Army song, 'Jesus came with peace to me, His strong arm was stretched to me, Then my burden took from me - My Saviour'.No.1226 Processional - Shine on us (James Wright adapted by Andrew Mackereth)This bolero-style setting of Michael W Smith's anthem was originally made for s wedding at Sheffield Citadel. It was subsequently adapted for use at the Belfast Temple Music School when players entered the arena in groups, through several entrances, playing from memory.

The chorus does not appear in its entirety at any point, but is obvious to a greater or lesser extent, in the texture of the music.No. 1245 A Celtic Blessing (arr. Erik Silfverberg)This is a simple arrangement of c Celtic traditional tune used to the lyrics of the familiar blessing:May the road rise to meet you,May the wind be always at your back,May the sun shine warm upon your face,The rain fall soft upon your fields,Until we meet again,May God hold you in the palm of his hand.No. 1246 Michael, Row! (David Catherwood)This arrangement of the traditional chous, 'Michael, row the boat ashore' (T.B. 285), is in a light swing style and also incorporates the tunes, 'Love lifted me' (T.B. 725) and 'Will uour anchor hold?' (T.B. 60).
