During the past few years, Andrew Pearce enjoyed a fruitful collaboration with Phillip Cobb, principal trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra, composing such works as The Maestro and Interlude for his album in 2012. Later Cobb invited Pearce to compose a slow melody, accompanied by the Central Band of the Royal Air Force for Cobb's upcoming album, displaying his softer, expressive side on flugelhorn. This song-like, warm lilting lullaby reflects on the joy of life.

This march was written in 1919 by Norways own March King Oscar Borg (1851-1930).He was born in the town of Halden in the southeast of Norway and received his education at the Royal Academy in Stockholm, Sweden.Upon his return to Halden he became a driving force in the towns musical life in several respects. He conducted choirs, amateur bands and played the organ in church.Borg was also the conductor of 1. Brigades Musikkorps (today The Norwegian Wind Ensemble) from 1881 to 1918.His significance for the Norwegian military bands and their repertoire is unquestionable.He wrote over 60 marches and he played several instruments; the violin, flute, cornet and the organ.This arrangement was written for Askoy Brass Band in 2021.Svein H. Additional Score: 24.95Rameau Revisited takes themes from the operas and keyboard works of the great Baroque composer Jean-Phillipe Rameau and recasts them to exploit the various colours of the modern brass band. The two outer movements, Marche and Tambourin are tour de force display pieces for the full ensemble while the three inner movements, Rondeau, La Joyeuse and Danse showcase the horn, cornet and lower brass sections in turn.

2012 British Open and the Netherlands Brass Band Championships. Championship Section Test Piece. Electra is loosely based on the play by Sophocles. The 'Elektra Chord' provides the signature chord and motivic elaboration used by composer Richard Strauss to represent the eponymous character of his opera Elektra. There are three clear sections to the work. The first is subtitled 'Lust for Revenge' which is a highly charged element with an ensemble approach to the writing; the second is the lyrically inspired 'Laments' where all the key solos occur and the musical language exploits the more poetic properties of the chord, and the final section, 'Dance to Death' which represents a return to rhythm as the main driving force.

This extended fanfare was written for the Royal Air Force Bomber Command Commemorations, 2012. The prototype Avro Lancaster bomber was launched into the skies in 1941 and proved to be a significant factor in winning the Second World War. Its slender silvery outline led it to be known as the Shining Sword.This musical tribute has featured extensively in Bomber Command commemorations especially at the opening of their Memorial, in London's Green Park, a fitting tribute to the 55,573 crew member who lost their lives during WW2.Duration: 2:00
