(Steven Ponsford)This light-hearted, lively piece of music is based on David Fellingham's song 'Shout for joy and sing your praises to the King'.No. 1281 (1) Sweet hour of prayer (trs. Doug Engle)Prayer offers us an opportunity to communicate with the Lord. The words of this hymn invite us to bring our concerns to a God who listens. As you listen to this arrangement, take time to reflect on how God has remained faithful through times of peace and distress.No. 1281 (2) The Lord bless you and keep you (arr. Andrew Wainwright)Peter Lutkin's beloved choral benediction is well known in vocal circles. Here it is given a simple treatment that it is hoped will inspire prayer reflection and renewed confidence in God's protection and guidance.No. 1282 March - I serve a risen Saviour (Noel Jones)This Easter march features the following songs: 'Look, ye saints! the sight is glorious' and 'I serve a risen Saviour'. (Paul Sharman)Based on the hymn tune 'Luckington', this music is a paean of praise to the Lord of all creation.No. 2159 A Christmas overture (Kevin Larsson)An exciting collection of well-known Christmas carols, originally written as a concert opener.No. 2160 March - A voice from above (Eiliv Herikstad)This march refers to a number of Christmas carols. It starts with four bars of 'Hark! the herald angels sing' followed by fragments of 'Joy to the world!' before James R. Murray's 'Den himmelske lovsang' is presented in full. 'Come children, come quickly' requires legato playing from the lower band.No. 2161 In God we trust (Ralph Pearce)Although the title derives from the United States of America's much-neglected motto, the music is a journey through to total trust in God and our Lord Jesus Christ. The tunes featured are 'In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust' leading to 'Trust in God'. Increasingly calm music leads to the more recent song 'In Christ alone, I placed my trust'. The music ends with a brief reference to 'In Thee, O Lord, do I put my trust' now in a mood of calm assurance.

No. 1251 Festival March - We Shall Win (Captain Anders Beijer)This march features the tune, 'We shall win' (T.B. 508) and portrays the belief that 'if we fight in the strength of the King' - 'We shall win!'No. 1252 Building Up! (Dean Jones)In 2012, the corps at Horsham were marking their 125th anniversary and this piece was used as part of that occasion. The theme adopted for the celebrations was 'Building hope for tomorrow', which was the inspiration for this piece. The tunes featured are 'Will your anchor hold?' and 'Building up the temple'.No. 1253 Carol Setting - O little town of Bethlehem (Noel Jones)An arrangement of the popular carol, 'O little town of Bethlehem', using the tune 'Forest Green'.No. 1254 Vox Dilecti (Kenneth Downie)Vox Dilecti means 'beautiful voice'. This is an arrangement of J.B.Dykes' melody, complementing words by Horatius Bonar.

This is a celebrational and witty composition that has all the hallmarks of Condon's innovative style. Originally written for brass quintet and first performed by chosen soloists in 1972, it was scored for brass band a few years later. Acrobatic energy, dignity and solemnity are all aspects of this work. The majestic hymn tune 'Gopsal' is the theme with which the words 'Rejoice, the Lord is King' are associated.

This march derives its title from the American hymn When the roll is called up yonder which is used as a bass solo. British expatriate William Broughton became a master of the American street march, the trio and break-up strain of this march being unmistakeably American and reminiscent of the golden age of American band music under Sousa, King and Fillmore.

The catalyst for this march came during Bramwell Coles brief service in the Royal Army Medical Corps at the end of World War One. It was intended as a salute to British Salvationists serving in the Armed Forces and includes quotations from several national airs like Rule Britannia, Men of Harlech, Bluebells of Scotland and God save the King (Queen).

Redbad was written for the Championship Section of the Dutch Brass Band Championships - and thus it contains plenty of musical and technical challenges. In this work of seven connected movements we get to know Redbad, who was the King of the Frisians from c. 680 to 719. The composer drew his inspiration from historical information, but also from stories, anecdotes, myths and legends around this figure. The themes within the composition are closely interwoven whereas the music is varied and appealing - from heroic motifs to the melancholy of elegies. Impressive tutti passages alternate with fragments that sound more open and in which various players can take centre stage. To crown it all, the work concludes with a majestic finale.
