"Vasen" ("commotion", "fuss", "ado") is a Swedish acoustic band consisting of three outstanding instrumentalists playing viola, 12-string guitar and nyckelharpa ("key-harp"). They have been touring together since 1989. The song "Gudda" is from a CD they released in 2017, and it is composed by guitar-player Roger Tallroth. The title refers to the song being (originally) in G-major and in "udda" (Swedish for "odd") time-signatures. Please, maintain a singing, legato style throughout.

When the publisher asked me to make an arrangement of an ABBA tune, S.O.S. was the first song I thought of. Its introduction and melody are well suited to play for band. Admittedly, the key had to be shifted to make it sound good for this instrumentation. To me, this is nostalgia, while for others, the Mamma Mia movie/show will be what they associate with this wonderful song. Apart from a few medleys, few of ABBA's songs are available for band. So, it was very fun to work on this classic.The arrangement is made quite simply to fit many sizes of bands. Technically, it is also relatively simple both in range and rhythm. As you can see, there are many ways to adjust this arrangement to your own ensemble. Bring out melody lines and the bassline, and a lot is done. The title of this flugel horn solo derives from a 17th century English poem by Ben Johnson that begins 'Drink to me only with thine eyes, and I will pledge with mine'. Its familiar melody is attributed to Colonel R. Mellish (1777-1817). This solo setting was written for the New York Staff Band in 1991. Within The Salvation Army church, the melody is associated with a religious lyric by William Drake Pennick (1884-1944) that begins 'There is a holy hill of God, its heights by faith I see'. (The Song Book of The Salvation Army, No. 627). The New York Staff Band recorded the solo on its 1992 CD, Under Three Flags (Triumphonic TRCD 1050). Feelings is a well-known easy listening hit that was written halfway through the 1970s, by the Brazilian singer-songwriter Morris Albert. However, the melody is derived from a French song (Pour toi) from 1957, written by Louis Gaste, who made this claim successfully. Over the years, Feelings has been performed by famous artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. Numerous arrangements have been made for various instrumentations.
