Panis Angelicus - Franck - Stephen Tighe
Arranged as a Soprano Solo, this is possibly the most famous song that Cesar Franck every composed. This soothing piece has been recorded by everyone from Luciano Pavarotti to Charlotte Church. Composed in 1872, originally for Organ, Harp, Cello, Double Bass and Tenor Voice, the piece was later interpolated into a 3 voice mass. A popular piece for any concert occasion

Rondeau - Mouret - Stephen Tighe
Public Television viewers will recognize this piece as the theme from "Masterpiece Theatre." It was composed in Paris in 1729 by Jean-Joseph Mouret (1682-1738) as part of a longer suite of instrumental pieces. The Rondeau has been popular at weddings and can be used as either a processional or a recessional, depending on the tempo at which it is played.

Sussex Carol - Trad - Stephen Tighe
A stunning arrangement of this well loved carol, with countermelodies and duplet bell calls, this will have your audiences smiling and swaying. Its happened to most bands, in the middle of a quiet moment in the music, an audience member's mobile phone rings (or worse, a band members!!!). Now, all can be forgiven in the fantastic "tongue-in-cheek" piece of music. Based around the music of Johann Strauss, this lively arrangement pokes fun at the Grand Waltz (Nokia's preferred ring tone!), as well as some of the other often heard ring tones (William Tell etc). This arrangement is dedicated to the memory of a much-loved friend and wonderful cornet player, Stephen Howard. Stephen played with the Clacton-on-Sea Band, conducted by his father Robert, and was a frequent guest with the G.U.S. Band directed by Dr. Keith M Wilkinson. Indeed, only a few weeks before his untimely death in 1984, Stephen had played principal cornet with the G.U.S. Band on a tour of Switzerland, performing outstandingly at each concert.The arrangement was first performed at Stephen's Memorial Service in October, 1984."Changed from glory into glory,Till in Heaven we take our place,Till we cast our crowns before Thee,Lost in wonder, love and praise." 2246: Christmas Prelude - David's City (Noel Jones)In 2 Samuel 5, we read of David's anointing as King of Israel at the age of thirty, a reign that lasted for forty years. Bethlehem was known as 'David's city' because he was born there and worked as a shepherd on the nearby hills. Verses 1, 2 and 5 of Once in Royal David's City (C.C. 68) are featured in this Christmas Prelude. There are also brief references to the carols O come, all ye faithful and O little town of Bethlehem between verses.2247: Cornet and Euphonium Duet - This Kingdom (Stephen Bulla)Geoff Bullock's song, This Kingdom, has been made well known by the American gospel singer Ron Kenoly. Stephen Bulla wrote this duet for a Brass Spectacular concert held in Basel, Switzerland, in May 2019.2248: Wonder (Stephen Gibson)When we stop to consider the mystery of God's love for each one of us, its enormity can only cause us to wonder. The opening bars of this music create an atmosphere, using a rolling accompaniment underneath sustained, music and chromatic Cornets, setting the style for the entire piece. Occasional references to Albert E. Webber's chorus Can you wonder? are heard throughout.2249: O to love thee! (Michael Davis)This piece takes its title from the first verse of Francis Bottome's words, Precious Jesus, O to love thee! The introduction establishes the baroque form of a prelude which leads into the tune Glory to the lamb (T.B. 327). Following a brief interlude, the melody is passed through several sections of the band, with delicate countermelodies in the Flugel and Horns. The majestic ending eventually comes to rest on the final tonic chord.
