This unique new resource from BrookWright Music will be an essential part of every band's library! All Tuned Up is designed to cater for ensembles for occasions throughout the year. Tunes are drawn from genres including Classical, Hymns, Folk and Patriotic amongst many others to form a comprehensive book that will cover a wide variety of events such as Weddings, Funerals, Graduation Ceremonies, Parties, Proms, Remembrance, Street Playing and Thanksgiving. Playable by as few as five players but also designed to work for full brass band or wind band, it features flexible parts in a wide variety of transpositions. The general harmonic format of All Tuned Up is in five parts, although additional notes have been included to thicken the harmony where more players are available. Peterloo - Malcolm Arnold
Peterloo is the derisive name given to an incident that happened on16th August 1819 in St Peter's Fields, Manchester, when an orderly crowd of some 80,000 people met to hear a speech on political reform. On the orders of the magistrates they were interrupted by the Yeomanry, who attempted to seize the banners they carried, and to arrest their speaker, Henry Hunt. Cavalry was sent in, and eleven people were killed and four hundred injured in the ensuing panic. This overture attempts to portray these happenings.Brass Band Grade 5: 1st Section.Duration 10 minutes.

Sonate for Tenor Quartet - Geert Jan Kroon
I wrote this Sonata for the euphoniums and baritones of Brass Band Pro Rege Heerenveen. It uses the characteristics of the instruments in a not so well known idiom. Sonata for tenor quartet is an octatonic work. The work consists of four parts: 'Allegro con Brio', 'Andante', 'Scherzo' and 'Rondo Allegro'. Ostinatos and fugal elements are prominent in the work. The range and virtuosity of the euphonium and the flexibility of the baritone are ten fully utilized in this work.

LORD OF SEA AND SKY (Brass Band Set) - Martin Cordner
Daniel Schutte's well-known hymn, 'I, the Lord of sea and sky', provides the basis for this major four movement work by Martin Cordner. The use of a four-note motif emphasising the first line of the chorus, 'Here I am, Lord' is evident throughout the work.

This beautiful hymn is one of trust and faith, building in confidence 'till the night is gone.' This arrangement follows that line of confidence. The melody begins unaccompanied, which is to say 'alone', and the eventual accompanying voices enter sombrely. Instead of a traditional final cadence, the 'leading of the light' continues, using the first four notes of the hymn as a motif that leads to a second, more positive statement of the melody, underscored by a walking motion. The positivity grows and lasts through a final grand statement of the hymn. A short meditative coda follows, and the arrangement ends with a solo note of reflection.

The attacks in Brussels on 22 March 2016 created a shockwave throughout Belgium and the rest of the world. Equally, the attacks in Paris and Nice led to great public indignation, fear and disbelief. What has happened to the western world? Have our cultures grown apart to such an extent that we do not understand each other anymore? Bert Appermont's intention was to voice certain emotions that these acts of terror have caused: particularly fear, grief, anger, and helplessness. He uses the French children's song Au Claire de la Lune as a connecting thread throughout the work. This piece is also about hope and faith in another world, and is meant to pay homage to all victims, resulting in a dignified remembrance. The musical development is presented in four through-composed parts, titled Innocence, In Cold Blood, In Memoriam - We Shall Rise Again and A New Day. This work was commissioned by the Brassband Oberosterreich (Brass Band Upper Austria) to be played at the European Brass Band Championships 2017.Duration: 16.30
