Commissioned by Philip Harper for the Cory Bands 2013 tour to Australia, Dreamtime draws inspiration from Australian Aboriginal mythology. The Dreamtime is a sacred era in which the Aborigines believe ancestral totemic (symbolic) spirits created the world. The work is heavily percussive, including narration and a pseudo-didgeridoo, created with multi-phonics in euphoniums and tubas. Commissioned in 2014 by the 2nd Rossendale Scout Band, Flanders Fields was composed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of World War I, also known as the Great War. It is a reflective work which uses a hymn as its basis, infusing the sound of bugle calls and marching drums to convey the impression of a conflict rather than depicting a specific battle. Moon River is the title song of the famous 1961 motion picture Breakfast at Tiffany's. Over the years the song was covered by many major stars, turning it into an absolute evergreen around the world. The beauty of the melody is also suited for mellow sounding instruments like the Eb horn; a great reason to make this version for brass band and horn. This arrangement of Moon River received its premiere as part of Tongwynlais Temperance Band's winning 2017 Welsh Open programme, with soloist Emily Evans winning the soloist prize. The arrangement was since featured on Cory Band's CD release 'Destination Moon', recorded by Ailsa Russell.

Lest We Forget is a phrase added as a final line at the end of the Ode of Remembrance, taken from Laurence Binyon's poem For the Fallen, first published in The Times newspaper in September 1914. Providing the title for this work for brass band, the piece aims to combine both the acoustic nature of the brass band medium alongside narrated passages and pre-recorded extracts to provide a moving tribute. The words originally spoken by Prime Minister Herbert Asquith in 1914 can be narrated in performance. However, a free audio download, manipulated to sound like a 1914 radio broadcast is available from Prima Vista. Lest We Forget received its premiere at The Sage, Gateshead, on November 17th 2014, performed by the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, conducted by Robert Childs. The work opened their winning Brass in Concert programme, and has since been performed by bands all over the world as a fitting tribute to the Great War.

Titan's Progress (Score & Parts) - Hermann Pallhuber
Commissioned by Austria's leading brass band, Brass Band Oberoesterreich, Titan's Progress is a series of descriptive, virtuoso episodes based on the principal character of the novel by Jean Paul. This was also the original subject of Mahler's Symphony No. 1, from which Hermann Pallhuber derives much of his material. The work has proved an exceptionally popular test piece all over the world. Titan's Progress was the selected test piece for the British Open Brass Band Championship, held at Symphony Hall, Birmingham on Saturday 12th September 2009.
