Vinter og sne - Naess-Jansen - Haakon Esplo
"Winter and Snow" was written by Sigurd Jansen and Alfred Naess and were recorded and released on single by Norwegian singer Wenche Myhre in 1966. The single was released in connection with the Nordic World Championships held in Oslo that year. The well-known song was also recorded in new version in 2011 by Wenche Myhre and included on her album "66".

"Walk on By" is an American song written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. It was written for Dionne Warwick. Her recording was released in April 1964 to great success.It reached a sixth place on the American Billboard Hot 100 list and a first place at Cashbox 'R & B. The song was a short time on Top 10 on the Billboard Easy Listening List. Marsjkonkurransen - Bo-Carlsen - Haakon Esplo
"Gurines March" is a very well-known song in Norway. Lalla Carlsen made great success performing it in the Chat Noir Revue "Det er servert" ("It's Served") in 1932 and in the movie "Opp med hodet" the same year. The song is the same melody that was used for the "The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo".Norwegian singer/banjo player Kari Svendsen is one of many performers who have made recordings of the tune from then on to this day. "Gurines March" is great for parade, where it certainly will bring a smile or two among the audience.

The popular children's musical Putti Plutti Pott og Julenissens skjegg ( Plutti Plutti Pott and Santa Claus' beard) was composed by Per Asplin in 1969. It tells the story of the little boy Plutti Plutti Pott who travel to Uncle Per, Petter and Caroline with the magical beard of Santa Claus.The musical was released both as a novel, on recorings and an television version was made in 1970. The stage version from 1987 is still very popular in Norway with many sell-out shows before Christmas each years..The funny song "Spikke-Sage-Lime-Banke" which means whittle, saw, glue and knock, may be more known to many listeners as Vi ma finne skjegget ("We Must Find The Beard").

In A Norwegian Hymn, three verses of the tune can be heard: the first is performed by various soloists, followed by a quieter second verse, before the third verse brings the piece to a triumphal close.
