£57.50A Norwegian Hymn - Axel Fiske
British composer Philip Sparke was asked to write this arrangement of Hymn to Frei for the Norwegian Brass Band Frei Hornmusikk . Sparke had already used part of this hymn by a composer well-known in the home region of the band in The Saga of Haakon the Good. In A Norwegian Hymn, three verses of the tune can be heard: the first is performed by various soloists, followed by a quieter second verse, before the third verse brings the piece to a triumphal close. A beautiful piece, which is also excellent to use to work on musicality with bands in lower divisions.

Occurrence was written as a commissioned work for Randesund School Band in 2014. The symphonic work gives challenges for all instruments and is well suited to work with rhythm, intonation, sound and musicality. Percussion has a central rolein the piece with solo performances, and the beautiful middle part gives the band opportunity to demonstrate its ability to interpretation and musical understanding. Occurence is therefore well suited for competitions as well as concerts.

Let your youngest musicians present their instruments and be soloists in this simple piece!Let's meet the band has a tutti part as starts and finish and a flexible part in the middle (A and B) where the soloist plays B-part and the rest plays A-part as accompaniment.Repeat the middle part as many times as you want and let all who wants to be soloists stand up and play. One by one or together in small groups.
